The 11th Grand Violin Ensemble was organised by the CA Rajasekar’s Violin Academy (CARVA). The three-hour long musical programme which started around 6 pm saw five groups perform and it concluded with a presentation where 100 violinists performed together on the stage.
The programme was also webcasted simultaneously. The violinists dressed in white were the message-bearers of peace in the musical way. Most of the performers were students at the academy. They undertake this musical tour under the guidance of CA Rajasekar every year.
Most of the compositions rendered were Sri Thyagaraja Swami’s compositions. Other compositions were predominantly of Muthuswami Dikshithar, Purandaradhasar.
The much-awaited grand violin ensemble started with the popular composition Sri Chakra Raja Simhasaneswari which was played by CA Rajasekar. This was followed by Hare Rama Hare Krishna to which CA Rajasekar lent his vocals. The ensemble was not just an aural treat but also visual one.
